Born and raised in the southeast valley, Alice received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Elementary Education from ASU in 1992, and her Master of Arts Degree in Educational Leadership from NAU in 1994. She taught second and third grades. In 1995, the City of Tempe approached her parents to purchase their property under eminent domain. This began a year long process, wherein Alice represented her parents, with the pro bono help of a prominent Phoenix eminent domain attorney, Jay Dushoff. At the conclusion of the process, Her parents received an additional $23,000 for their property, and Jay recommended that Alice either go to law school, or get her real estate license and represent others in that way. She chose the latter, quit teaching, and began her career in real estate in July 1996, with Dan Schwartz Realty. She received her broker's license in 2002, and from 2006-2008, served as one of the Managing Brokers at the firm, teaching, consulting with and reviewing the contracts of over 300 agents herself, working under Duane Fouts as designated broker. With the sale of Dan Schwartz Realty in 2008, Alice moved her license to Independence Realty Professionals, which was purchased in 2014, by My Home Group. In January 2020, with the hiring of Duane Fouts as designated broker for West USA Realty, Alice moved her license to again work under Duane, the smartest guy she knows.
